2010 07 what's in the workboxes, july

Here are Nater's workboxes for 2010 07.   since we haven't officially started our curriculum, I've been working with her to go through the boxes one at a time, don't start a new one until one is finished; putting away everything she takes out of one box before going on to another one etc....I've started her working in the Kumon Tracing, Coloring & Easy Mazes books and she seems to be enjoying them.
1.  Dora Crayola Color Wonder sheets (bought on sale)
2.  Racing Racecars by Mama Jenn  (used beads in my stash to match the car colors)
3.  Melissa & Doug Magnetic Dress Up Princess ($1.00 at a garage sale)
4.  Mini file folder game made from a $1.00 store teacher's bulletin board border (got the idea from Mama Jenn)
5.  Milk Cap Letters & Sesame Street Character Name Sheets from Erica at  Confessions of a Homeschooler
6.  Shape Tracers wth Playdoh from Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler
7.  Lego counting mat from Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler
8.  page from Kumon My book of Easy Mazes...I do change out the Kumon sheets when she has completed them (just go the next page in each book).
9.  page from Kumon My Book of coloring
10.  page from Kumon My First Book of Tracing
also on the stand next to her workboxes I have out a bag of bristle blocks and also the shape finder viewers I made from Homegrown Hearts
FYI i used my borders coupons to buy the Kumon books...saves money
Thanks for looking!

Estate Sales & Garage Sales

You know sometimes going to garage sales is similar to kissing frogs.  Most times you are just kissing a frog, rarely do they turn into a prince.  So i figure you have to go to 10 iffy garage sales to get one really good one.
this week i hit it lucky.  was in an older neighborhood i didnt want to go to but my husband wanted to go.  He was driving so i went along.  Boy did I hit the motherload!  It was an estate sale for a kindergarten teacher of 30 years!!!  I found numerous Lakeshore Learning items but i had to limit myself.  The sight words sentence builder kit was still in its original wrapping.  everything was in wonderful shape!  all this for $19.00! what a deal!

July Sensory Tub update and supplies, 2010 07

This is Naters sensory tub after one week.  still asks to play with it each day and we have fun with it.  These are some wooden nesting bowls & trays that i painted for Naters to use with her Montessori activities.  I let her pick the colors.  Oh yeah, just wanted to let you know that the glitter pom poms are holding up really well!!!
